Day 1: We explored downtown Copenhagen, where I tried my first Danish hot dog and was not disappointed! I had the opportunity to get to know the other students on the trip, who are all lovely. I specifically enjoyed understanding the impact of Danish design on future designers and the overall cultural impact it has had on Denmark.

Day 2: We went to various stores featuring items by Danish designers, which gave us a glimpse into how design has truly and positively impacted commercial design and its desirability. We visited Copenhagen’s famous colored buildings, and it was wonderfully breathtaking.

Day 3: We visited the Frederiksborg castle, and wow, its beauty is truly indescribable. From every tiny detail in its architecture to the gorgeous clothing worn by royalty, I couldn’t fathom the beauty concealed within the castle. I felt lucky to even be present inside.

Day 4: We visited the Louisiana Museum, where I was greeted by an incredible exhibition of Yayoi Kusama’s work that I deeply adored. The museum itself felt like a distorted human extravaganza.

Day 5: We visited the Viking Ship Museum and had the opportunity to row the boats that happen to be manufactured at the museum’s location. The instructor was phenomenal and very helpful! Afterwards, we headed to the Roskilde Cathedral, and the interior was beautiful and quite fascinating. The architecture was breathtaking, and the coffins were the cherry on top.

Day 6: We visited the Arken Museum, and I must say, it has to be my favorite so far. I think the mystifying atmosphere that I stumbled upon once I walked in really made me favor this museum more than the others. I enjoyed the trolls, the trash, and the otherworldly paintings that provoke emotions out of the viewer.
